Here are two food trends I can do without. It has to do with food presentation.

(deconstructed vs. food-tower)
In one corner is deconstructed food as in "deconstructed" Caesar salad where you'll get a stack of lettuce, egg yolk, anchovy, bacon and some shaved cheese that you're supposed to mix together. No thanks. Sure, it was kind of cool at first but when I go to restaurants, I want all the cooking and presentation done FOR me. Just give me a good old Caesar salad in a simple bowl and I'm happy.
Another food presentation trend I'm not a fan of is the "how high can you go" food towers. I admit it has wow factor but it's short-lived. At the end of the day, it's just a pain in the *@! to eat. There's no way to attack a ridiculously high-stacked dish without looking awkward and clumsy.
Not to start the week on a negative note but which do you loathe more? That's a hard one for me since I hate both. But if push came to shove I'll reserve more of my hate for deconstructed food. How about you?
